# Calendar & events

Open **Calendar** (`/calendar`) for the full month view, or use the mini-calendar on the Home
page.

### Month view

Navigate months with the chevrons or **Today**. Each day cell shows up to three event chips
(time + title), with **"+X more"** when there are more. Click a day to select it and see its
events in the right sidebar; click a chip to open the event.

### The day sidebar

Shows the selected day's events in time order, each with a colored left edge (court-type events
red, deadline-type amber, others gray), the time or "All day", and the linked case. **"New
Event"** creates an event for the selected day. The sidebar can be collapsed and resized. A
pencil menu on each event offers **Edit** / **Delete**.

### Creating / editing an event

The dialog (**"New event"** / **"Edit event"**) has:
- **Title** *(required)*
- **Date** *(required)* (date picker)
- **All day event** toggle — when off, **Start time** and **End time** appear.
- **Case** — optionally link to a case (or "No case" for a firm-wide event).
- **Description** — optional.

Save with **Create** / **Save**; edit mode also has **Delete**. Clicking an event opens a detail
view with its date/time, description, a link to the case (if any), and **Edit** / **Delete** /
**Close**.

### Overdue & case alerts

The Home mini-calendar surfaces an **Overdue** count that opens a drawer of past-due events. The
soonest upcoming event on a case drives that case's "what's next" banner.

> Events and hearings/deadlines are the same underlying thing — a case's "Hearings & deadlines"
> rows, calendar events created here, and the "what's next" banner all refer to the same events.
