# What Albatross is

Albatross is a case-management workspace for legal teams. Each firm (called a **workspace**
or **organization** in the UI) holds a set of **cases**. Inside a case you can:

- Store and organize **files** (documents, photos, audio, video) and make them searchable.
- Draft **documents** (motions, briefs, letters, memos, discovery requests) in a built-in
  editor with court-rule–aware formatting.
- Work with an **AI assistant** that knows the case — it can search your files, answer
  questions, draft documents, and propose updates to the case record.
- Track **tasks** on a Kanban board and **deadlines/hearings** on a calendar.
- Keep **notes** and share the case with teammates according to their **role**.

Everything in a case syncs live: reload the page, close the tab, or open the case on another
device, and your work — chats, drafts, tasks — is still there.
