Creating a document
Click "Draft" and pick a type: Motion, Brief, Letter, Legal Memo, Discovery Request, or Blank document. The full-page editor opens with a default title ("Untitled Motion", etc.). You can also have the assistant draft one for you.
The documents list
Each document row shows its title, a status badge (draft / final / filed), and the last-updated time, with a hover ⋯ menu (Rename, Delete). Clicking a document opens a read-only preview on the right; "Open in editor" enters the full editor.
The editor
- Rename by clicking the title in the breadcrumb (Enter to commit, Esc to cancel), or via the ⋯ menu.
- The document renders as stacked white pages with margins, headers, and footers drawn in. Text flows and paginates automatically; insert a manual page break with Ctrl+Enter.
- Edits auto-save (there's no Save button). Changes sync live across devices/tabs.
Formatting toolbar (left to right): zoom (Fit or a percentage), Bold / Italic / Underline / Strikethrough, block type (Paragraph / Heading 1–3), bullet and numbered lists, alignment (left/center/right/justify) and line spacing, a text style popover (Aa — font, size, text color, highlight, clear formatting), a link tool (Ctrl+K), and undo/redo. When the window is narrow, extra controls collapse into a "More (⋯)" popover.
Page settings panel — adjust page size/orientation, margins (with a link toggle to change
all four together), page gap and background, and headers/footers (including different first
page and different odd/even, header/footer distances, and inserting page-number fields
{page} / {pages} and images).
Version history
The toolbar's version button (shows the current version number) opens the version list:
- "Save as new version" freezes the current draft as a numbered checkpoint.
- Click any past version to preview it read-only (a banner reads "Previewing Version N · read-only").
- "Revert to this version" restores it (with confirmation) — changes made after that version are discarded.
Import & export (⋯ menu in the editor)
- "Import Word file…" — pick a
.docx; it loads into the editor (preserving text, formatting, headings, lists, tables, images, page breaks). If the document already has content, you confirm a replace. The import is undoable (Ctrl+Z) and a version checkpoint can recover it. - "Download as Word" — exports the current document to
.docx. - "Save as PDF…" — opens the browser print dialog; choose "Save as PDF."
