Jurisdiction formatting & court rules

When a case has a jurisdiction, the editor applies that jurisdiction's court-rule profile. Albatross ships profiles for all 50 states, covering things like page size, minimum margins, minimum font size, required line spacing, and footer requirements. Firms can further customize per-jurisdiction formatting in Firm settings (but only in ways that stay at least as strict as the rule).

How deviations are shown — the app uses soft guidance, never hard blocks in the editor:

• A "Default" tag (gray) means a setting matches the profile default.
• A blue dot means the setting differs from the default but is still within the rule's allowed range — fine, just different.
• An amber dot means the setting is outside the rule's requirement (e.g. a font smaller than the minimum). Hover it for the rule citation.
• Clicking the indicator resets that field to the profile default.

The editor will always let you save a deviation — the dots are informational. When the assistant drafts or formats a document, it respects the hard rules and won't produce out-of-rule values.
