Settings

Settings are split into Personal (/settings) and Firm (/firm). Most fields auto-save silently (on blur or on change) — there's usually no Save button. Admin-only sections stay blank until the app confirms the user's role, so nobody briefly sees a wrong "not allowed" state.

Personal settings

  • Profile — name, email, member-since (display only); Delete account in a danger zone.
  • Appearance — theme: Light, Dark, or System.
  • Notifications — see Section 19.
  • Shortcuts — customize keyboard shortcuts (see Section 24).
  • About — version and legal/attribution info.

Firm settings (admin/owner for most)

  • General — firm Name and URL slug; firm switcher and "create organization" if the user has multiple firms.
  • Practice — attorney role, practice areas, and case defaults (default jurisdiction, court, judge, prosecutor) that new cases inherit.
  • Team Members, Roles & access — see Section 21.
  • Single sign-on (SSO) — add an OIDC provider by domain, then verify domain ownership by adding a DNS TXT record ("Show DNS record""Check DNS"). Once verified, users on that domain can use the SSO button to sign in.
  • Branding — display name, document header/footer, and an Enable letterhead toggle; appears on generated documents.
  • Notifications — firm routing rules (admin).
  • Document formatting — firm-wide measurement system (Imperial/Metric) and per-jurisdiction formatting overrides (font, spacing, page size, margins, footer alignment).
  • Assistant — toggle Suggested next steps.
  • Audit log — owner-only read-only view (also surfaced at /activity).
  • Integrations — connect/disconnect cloud file providers (see Section 10).
