Getting around the app

The two navigation modes

The left sidebar is context-aware:

  • Global navigation (when not inside a case): Home, Cases, Tasks, Calendar, Activity, Settings.
  • Case navigation (when a case is open): the sidebar switches to that case's sections, with a "← All cases" way back to the case list.

Case sections

Inside a case, the sections are:

Section What it holds
Assistant AI chat threads for the case
Documents Drafted documents (motions, briefs, letters, etc.)
Case files Uploaded files, organized in folders
Tasks The case's Kanban board
Notes Free-form case notes

Each section shows a count of items. On narrow screens the rail collapses to icons; hovering an icon shows the section name and count.

The case switcher (fast way to jump between cases)

Because a firm can have hundreds of active cases, there is no long scrolling list of cases in the sidebar. Instead, use the case switcher — a searchable command palette titled "Switch case":

  • A search box ("Search cases…") filters by case name (and client/number where shown).
  • Cases are grouped Pinned first, then All cases by recency.
  • Click a case to jump to it. There are also "+ New case" and "View all →" actions.

The full /cases page is the place to browse and manage the entire set of cases.
